Into the Wilderness

We ride north on F35 to Kerlingafjöll Mountain Range, within the geothermal area of Hveradalir. As the scene unfolds, you will capture the sight of mini glaciers, high energy steam springs and arctic vegetation which together create unique color combinations. We’ll be crossing a river with a bank of black sand.

Mountain Hut – Selfoss – 301 km
Fjallabak Region

The Fjallabak Region takes name from the numerous wild and rugged Mountains with deeply incised valleys.Riding there is like being in the Lord of the Rings Story.The hot pools at Landmannalaugar where we will bathe are one of many manifestations of geothermal activity in the area.From the hot pools,the track takes us to Hrafntinnusker home of the Obsidians rock.With some river crossing we will find Markafljót canyon and fallow the river to the lowlands.

How to book a trip with Ride With Locals:
You may book a trip with Ride With Locals by filling out the registration form on the website.

The maximum number of participants for each tour is 7 + 2 riding guides from Ride With Locals.

The minimum number of participants for the tour to run is 3 people+ 2 riding guides from Ride With Locals.

Not included in the price:

Flights to/from Reykjavik/Keflavik

Hotel in Reykjavík the night before and after the trip

Riding gear and helmets

*You can book flights to/from Reykjavik/Keflavik from several destinations in Europe and the rest of the world.

Things to remember:

The weather on Iceland can differ from day to day and rain is not unusual. Make sure that your clothes really are waterproof. Waterproof socks are a recommendation, since we often ride through water.

The temperature can vary from 5 to 15 Celsius degrees, so you need to be well prepared.

Remember that a travel insurance is required in case you get ill or injure yourself. Most home insurances also include travel insurance. Check it with your insurance company. A European insurance card is also recommended (if European), it is provided free of charge at the state.

Also remember to bring your own bathing/swimming suit for the natural swimming pools and hot tubs.
Terms & Conditions

Before making a reservation at Ride With Locals we encourage you to read these Terms and Conditions carefully, as they constitute a contract agreement made between Ride With Locals and you from the time of booking.

By submitting a booking, you confirm to us that you comply with these arrangements.

Payment
After registering, you will receive a confirmation with a registration fee invoice of 25%. This must be paid within 7 days. The full amount must be paid no later than 60 days before the trip. If you book 60-30 days before the trip, the full amount must be paid within 7 days from receiving the confirmation. If you book less than 30 days before the trip, the full amount must be paid within 3 days from receiving the confirmation.

Cancellation of trip
Cancellations must be made as soon as a hindrance occurs.

When canceling more than 60 days before the trip, the participant will get a full refund.

Cancellation 60-30 days before the trip: 50% of the full amount will be refunded.
Cancellation less than 30 days before the trip: No refund will be given.

If Ride With Locals cancels the trip, the full amount of the payment will be refunded to participants. Ride With Locals will inform about a cancellation no later than 30 days before the trip. Ride With Locals is not liable for other costs for the trip, such as flight tickets.

Passport
All participants must have a valid passport. A passport that expires during the trip is invalid.

Driver’s license
All participating riders must have a valid driver’s license for a heavy motorcycle.

A normal driving license is enough for ATV tours.

Liability
The customer is liable in any case for all personal injuries and damage to property caused by his/her intentional misconduct or negligence and shall indemnify and hold Ride With Locals harmless against all third party claims asserted directly on Ride With Locals in connection with such injuries and/or damage. Damage caused by a customer’s intentional misconduct or negligence means in particular (but not limited to) damage attributable to driving mistakes, lack of driving ability and/or disorderly driving behavior (for instance, driving on the back wheel making a racing start or failing to comply with safety spaces between vehicles).

Minor scratches caused by falling over or dropping the bike do not have to be covered by the participant. But if the motorcycle is damaged and requires repair, there is a vehicle damage excess charge of a maximum of 150,000 ISK.

Travel insurance

Participants are required to have health and accident insurance that also covers transportation back to the home country. Insurance documents must be presented upon demand.

Cancellation cover
We recommend that all our customers check what their home insurance covers. Some insurances have a cancellation cover that covers the entire amount or part of it.

Itinerary
Ride With Locals is not liable for itinerary changes. Be sure to check your flight times and ask to have your seat reservation confirmed. Ride With Locals is not liable for a missed flight due to changed itineraries or a delayed flight.

Itinerary changes
Ride With Locals reserves the right to change information in brochures and on the website, before making a contract with a participant. Ride With Locals also reserves the right to carry out changes to the terms and conditions regarding the trip.

Ride With Locals reserves the right to change itineraries due to unexpected situations and does not answer for possible typing errors.
